My name is Bongekile Khumalo, 30 years old, South African citizen. My current role as administrator in a relatively small company takes me beyond administrative tasks to customer relations, which has given me an appreciation of the value of keeping clients and stakeholders happy, as well as the capacity and skill to do so. In one notable incident, a hitch by our delivery partner led to a delay in the delivery of an order to our client, which had an adverse effect on the customer and threatened the trust and future relations between us. I took initiative by agitating for facilitated delivery to the client, as well as stayed in contact with the client to ensure that the experience was salvaged; this effort was acknowledged by the client in their feedback. My working experience in another previous sales-oriented role is replete with examples similar to the aforementioned. Additionally, I have a passion in technology as well, as evidenced by my academic background, which was a conscious path. A skill I appreciate the most was problem-solving, which is a core area of computer science. The dynamic nature of the field in terms of tools and technologies requires quick adaptation and constant evolving in terms of competencies and skillsets, which I count as an asset. My career goals are shaped by – among others – my passion for positively influencing people in making great decisions, working with emerging technologies and professional growth.
