I am a Cordon Bleu Grande Diplome (Silwood) trained chef that specialised in pastry, and have worked within multiple award winning restaurants in Cape Town (La Colombe, The Waterside, Chef's Warehouse Beau Constantia). I also won season 2 of The Great South African Bake Off at the age of 18 (2016), and enjoy being in front of the camera. Currently, I am the Chef & General Manager of The Backyard Cafe, which involves menu design and development, event co-ordination & planning, as well as staff training, HR, marketing, basic bookkeeping, and day-to-day running of the restaurant. The Backyard Cafe recently expanded into a deli & bespoke furniture retail venture, and I am also involved. As this job is full time, flexible and remote work is more likely to fit in my schedule. I have a deep passion for recipe development, and am always determined to make something taste the absolute best that it can, without being over-complicated. I thoroughly enjoy writing recipes and surrounding content to not only appeal to food professionals, but the general food enthusiast too!
