I, Calvin Van Wyk, obtained my LLB Degree at the NWU University in Potchefstroom, North West. I relocated to Pretoria in 2019 and have since completed the required two years of articles at a two law firms in Pretoria. During my first year, I was employed at Delport van den Berg Inc. where I mainly dealt with High Court litigation and gained extensive knowledge in: Foreclosures, Vehicle repossessions, Debt collection, as well as the Administering of Estates & Trusts. In January 2020, I ceded to Van der Hoven Attorneys to gain experience in another field of law as well as to receive more court exposure. This firm mainly dealt with consumer debt related matters, whereby I was required to draft debt review applications and attend to the court appearances thereof. I was fortunate enough to appear in roughly 24 Magistrates court throughout Gauteng and parts of North West. During my second year of articles, I gained extensive knowledge of how the various courts function, and I have built up great confidence to appear in open court. I am an admitted attorney interested in a position for a junior attorney/legal advisor and I would like to submit my application. As a brief background, I grew up in Rustenburg in the Northwest province, attended Primary school in English and High School in Afrikaans. I have a passion for aviation, whereby I obtained my Private Pilot’s License whilst in my matric year at the Rustenburg Flying Club. Under the leadership and guidance of my father I have the invaluable opportunity to assist with administrative tasks and duties in managing his Commercial properties, whereby I interact with clients and tenants on a daily basis. I enjoy being outdoors and consider myself to be a very active person, I mountain bike on a weekly basis and thoroughly enjoy water sports.
