19 years + overall career experience. Through the years, you grow and learn, and are never too old to learn more. My aspiration is to develop and enhance my skills and experience came when my daughter was born. Even though at the time I couldn’t really step into the next chapter of my career life, it never stopped me to dream and reach high. I never had an opportunity in life to study further, but that never kept me back. Life decisions are made based on your mindset and outlook on life. Yes, I got married, had a little girl, and then divorced before she turned 2. From there I worked as hard as possible to make sure I can look after her and give her everything I never had. Create opportunities for her to believe in herself, knowing that she is capable of anything she puts her mind to. Values the small things in life and know that we need to work hard to make our dreams come true. This philosophy opened my eyes, to the person I am and became, throughout my inner self-discovery. I got into marketing (traditional Outdoor) knowing that I had no experience, but this didn’t scare me. Within the first 6 months, I signed my first R1m deal. I was proud, of the fact that I was part of a client’s strategy and marketing message. This is where my passion for marketing came in. But I wanted more, to be part of the message and the strategy the voice of reason to people out there. So, this evolved over the years where I ended up with a Research company. A bursary was advertised with AMASA and I took a chance and applied. I got the bursary. Lockdown happened and my entire world was flipped upside down, like many other people. School, work and now taking classes online in the evenings. Juggling so many things at the same time, but I graduated. Again, Covid and lost my job, and after 3 months got the position that I am in now. Again, an opportunity came along that applied for and I received two courses, from which I am still completing the last one. During the previous course, I realized that this is where my passion lies. I did copy-writing and design elements from scratch and got great marks. I was so emotional with this wonderful achievement I never thought I had in me. And this is the legacy I want to leave my daughter. No matter how old you are, where you find yourself in life, always remember, if you don’t try you will never know. Always keep your head high, always be open to wanting to learn more. Make your dreams a reality as you are the master of your fate. If you want to achieve greatness, stop asking for permission. Thank you
