I am an accountant with more 35 years experience and exposure to various industries/sectors. I am confident I can manage the accounting department well and add value to the organisation. Over the 35 year period, I have prepared and managed more than 25 financial year-end audits and annual financial statements. The last three year-end audits were almost paperless. (The year-end file was delivered to the auditors on a memory stick). I am also very experienced at preparing and implementing annual budgets. Preparing and interpreting monthly management reports and cash flow forecasting is the bread and butter of any financial manager. My management style is hands-on. I am not afraid to do the reconciliation or post transactions in the accounting system. Creating, implementing and controlling policies and procedures for the accounting department is a very important component of the accountants job description. In terms of accounting software I worked with Syspro system at my last position and have extensive exposure across all modules. Credit control function included working closely with CGIG to manage debtors book. Responsible for monthly declaration. My previous employer is an importer of industrial fasteners (nuts and bolts etc) and I was responsible for the administration of the importing function i.e. costing according the accounting principle, receipting, checking and problem solving . Responsibility also included all the static options i.e. routes, vessels duties and VAT . The costing of every shipment was checked and approved before shipping was allowed to clear through customs.
