Over the years, I have built a diverse and comprehensive professional portfolio, encompassing roles as manager, consultant, and business owner. My most recent position as the Franchise Manager for Darling Brew in Darling, allowed me to showcase my strategic thinking and research abilities. While determining that franchising was still premature for the organization, I actively contributed to the executive management team, gaining valuable insights into various facets of business development and growth. My efforts were geared towards steering the company towards Best in Class status. My contract concluded on 30 November 2023. For the past 26 years I was involved in the hospitality industry in various roles. The first 7 years of my career I spent in the UK working for great organisations such as Harrods and The Royal Ocean Racing Club where I was exposed to high standards and was taught and followed all relevant legal compliances. Once back in South Africa, I worked at De Beers where I gained in depth experience regarding OHS, ISO standards and HR matters which, as section head, I had to apply. My 1 year as Senior Theory Lecturer at the South African Chefs Academy exposed me to training standards and adult education which I could afterwards escalate at the eminent contract catering company where I was employed as the National Training & Development Manager. In this company I not only had to establish the T&D department and obtain accreditation, but also had to create and implement all policies and procedures. I compiled a Quality Management System as well as a scoring system for bi-annual performance bonuses (2 300 employees). I dealt with all HR aspects on a daily basis as part of my routine, from employment equity plans to BEE compliance.
