Chengete Chakamera holds a PhD degree (Economics) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) while simultaneously leading administrative and research activities where he also lectured in 2019. He is also a Researcher under the Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI) at the Wits Business School (WBS). Besides these positions, he is a Supervisor of postgraduate (Masters) research projects at the WBS. His interpersonal and communication skills have allowed him to build strong relationships with administrators, professors and other colleagues at work. Chengete possesses in-depth knowledge of complex economic concepts, econometrics & business management, and adapt at applying theories and ideas in real-world situations. Strong understanding of business finance, economic modelling, and data interpretation. He once served as a Seasonal Consultant of the AREF Consult. Chengete held other research contracts with organisations such as Stellenbosch University, Wits Business School, and the International Growth Centre (ICG). These activities honed his analytical and econometric skills, and ability to apply various statistical software such as Stata, Eviews, SAS, SPSS, R-studio and Gretl. This includes the ability to publish articles in accredited journals as shown on page 5 of the CV. He is able to use databases such as Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters.
