I have a strong background in rigging and I am familiar with all the necessary safety procedures, I have more than +/- 20 years of experience in the rigging field in the mining industry and plant operations and open cast Rigging, communication skills, 3+ years working as a Rigger/ Rigger Ropes man • In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery. • Excellent hearing and vision. • Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments. • High-level mathematical skills. • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment. • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions. • Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved. • Set up, align and levelling heavy equipment machinery. • Select the appropriate rigging gear. • Prepare rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts. • Inspect rigging before final use. • Monitor and maintain rigging equipment. • Manoeuvre loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand. • Ensure compliance with state and company safety procedures. • Communicate with the rigging and construction team. • Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections. • Participate in planning shutdowns, resources, tools and spares relevant to shutdown activities. • Report faults and unsafe conditions. • Assisting foreman in executing his duties as required. • Lift and move loads using rigging equipment, mobile cranes, overhead cranes and forklifts. • Replace overhead crane and mobile crane ropes and winder ropes. • Responsible for trade related administrations. • Perform standby duties and breakdowns. Attend to Call outs. • Conduct risk assessments and participate in risk activity-based assessments. • Operating a pendant-controlled overhead crane • Understanding the importance of planning any rigging operations prior to lifting the load • Knowledge of and apply regulatory requirements pertaining to rigging operations. • Willingness to work a reasonable amount of overtime, including weekends and public holidays, plus standby duties. • Conduct maintenance, inspections, and examinations in accordance with relevant legislation – Health and Safety Act Regulations and SANS 10293 Rope condition assessment and OEM Specification on Winder Ropes.
