I am a recent Bcom graduate with majors in Economics & Supply Chain Management. In varsity developed a strong passion for Economics and would love to be employed at a company that allows me to make use of my knowledge in Economics. My major allowed me to be more analytical as well as to get a greater understanding of how the economy works. I believe the experience I have gained in the year since graduating from university will allow me to be a value add at your company. My first job was as a purchasing intern at an international automotive company based in Durban. I gained experience in communicating, negotiating and analysing. My day to day activities included contacting and managing current and potential suppliers, running price analysis exercises and presenting these to my manager as well as negotiating lower prices and being a point of contact between management and suppliers. I also arranged supplier visits whilst performing various admin duties. I am currently employed at a niche bank in the credit department where I have been exposed to the financial sector & investment banking. Here I have learnt skills in analysing, multitasking, being deadline driven and finance. My day to day activities include analysing management accounts of current clients (measuring for liquidity, solvency, etc.), running a drawdown process (reducing a client’s loan balance each time it is used), general bank process (preparing, loading & managing debit orders, preparing and issuing guarantees, etc.) as well as general office admin duties. I believe that being exposed to these two industries/ roles make me the perfect candidate for this position. I have the necessary communication & negotiating skills required for building relationships with clients, I have the necessary analytical skills required to manage client accounts. I know my exposure to investment banking will allow me to provide information about the products your company provides. My future aspiration is to complete my CFA charter as well as the CAIA.
