I have an interdisciplinary background in the earth sciences and take a holistic approach to problem-solving to improve human and ecosystem health. I am driven and have a strong work ethic. I am detail-oriented and work towards quickly recognizing and addressing problems in processes, systems or environments. I am adaptable and an agile learner, I work well on my own and in teams. I am a computer super user and proficient at research, environmental analyses and technical writing. As part of my most recent Doctoral research, I collected and chemically characterised aerosols on the Namibian coast. I also performed source apportionment and analysed atmospheric thermodynamic structures and transport patterns over the coast. My MSc. dissertation critically analysed environmental legislation regarding abandoned mines in South Africa and Western Australia. My BSc. Hons dissertation looked at residual radioactivity and tested the viability of urban developments on the footprints of re-mined gold tailings storage facilities. As part of my BSc. and BSc. Hons. studies I collected, analysed and classified soil samples, and reported on these findings for several sites. I also participated in environmental audits on mines and waste storage and treatment facilities.
