He has also led the Africa consulting business for Peppers and Rogers Group, a global customer-centric strategy house, together with setting up the Nedbank Insurance (Direct and Digital insurance) business with a key focus on building a shared services operating model and growing it into a successful division. His leadership experience spans across managing teams more than 550 resources (BPO including, Team Leads, Call Centre Agents, Underwriters) and with a breath of knowledge in HR, marketing, operations, finance, account management and business strategy. Desan has proven his ability to lead large-scale, multijurisdictional technology programs and solved critical business challenges across South Africa, West and East Africa, UAE and Turkey. His qualifications in Design Thinking (Stanford University), Data and Analytics (North-Western University, US), Adjunct Faculty at Johannesburg Business School, GIBS, Duke University and UCT has given him the sound practical knowledge in the field of Digital Transformation (Customer Centricity, Data Analytics, Digital Technology, Human-centred Design) and allows him to communicate at various levels on this topic.
