I have worked at an NGO (2008 - 2011) and South African National Defence Force (2011 - 2022). I played a crucial role in supporting the soldiers, their families as well as the Multi-Professional Team in dealing with the stresses and challenges of military life. This included their emotional needs as well. This was done through counselling, therapy and support services especially in situations where trauma, stress or mental health issues was related to their service delivery. My overall goal was always to support my clients in improving their mental well-being, fostering resilience and enhancing their overall quality of life. My health awareness campaigns instilled inclusivity and led to a healthy working environment. I was at the steer of outreach initiatives in collaboration with the soldiers. My therapeutic methods aim to make wholeness a lifestyle for my clients. Apart from my degree in Social Work, I obtained my international accredited certificate from the Applied Metapsychology Institute. This allows me to implement my traumatic incident reduction protocols which include Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) and TIR for children and adolescents as well as Life Stress Reduction. I am trained in evidence-based therapeutic services such as Motivational Interviewing, solution focused brief therapy, mindfulness-based approaches. Screening, brief intervention and referral for treatment (SBIRT). I render family, therapy, person-centred therapy and individual therapy.
