I am Dimpho Mathebe,a 22 year old black female originally from Mpumalanga. I moved to Pretoria shortly after my father passing, as my mother was unemployed, I then together with my brother moved in with my Aunt to continue schooling.. I then obtained my matric certificate at Tshwane Secondary School in 2015, unfortunately unlike most of my peers I was not entirely ready to study as I did not know in which direction I wanted to head. I then took a gap year to venture and tap into a new and tranquil environment, I worked as a child facilitator for a year before participating in a skills exchange program with Tshwane Leadership Foundation as a contract child facilitator. In 2018 I enrolled for a Bachelor of Laws with UNISA during which period I started working as a store associate at Sportscene on a part time basis to help finance my extra study material. I however interrupted my studies when an opportunity to live and work abroad presented itself, it came at a point in my life when I still felt a void in my existence, I felt incomplete. Some may say I went on a journey of self discovery. Living in a foreign country can help in one’s growth in terms of exploring one’s self, capabilities and so forth. I recently came back from Germany, with a clear objective of my future plans, I know and understand myself better and as far as my part or place in the world goes.
