I am currently employed as an “IT Systems Lead” with Tullow Oil. Tullow’s main business is around oil exploration and production and I am responsible for the IT and Data Management Systems for the business. I manage the entire IT operation and Digitalization initiatives for Tullow Oil Cape Town. This involves a range of subdisciplines such as Implementations, Upgrades\Deployment, Infrastructure Management (Storage, Backups, Networks, Virtualisation etc…) and Service Desk Management. Other key areas of accountability are IT budgeting, procurement and managing of people including consultants. It is my responsibility to ensure SLA’s and KPI’s are fully met, and staff objectives are aligned to the overall business strategy. Technically, I have a strong background in Unix\Linux Systems, Oracle and Oil and Gas Middleware applications leveraged to run the Geoscientific function of the business. During my time with Tullow I have spent 3 years in London as a Technical Specialist, I have gained fantastic international experience within this role, particularly from a cross cultural and management perspective.
