Skills Set Administrative I am competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher and Powerpoint, Restaurant and Retail Backoffice (MICROS AND PACHSOFT, SAP, STEM). Typing speed approximately 40 words per minute (with mistakes) Bookkeeping on a standard Excel spread sheet of my own making, as well as working with auditors to make sure that the book keeping is up to standard and accurate. School Administration including library, database, learner schedules, examinations and setting up of learning plans and classroom activities under the guidance of the CAPS teacher guides. Stock Control, Menu creation and costing, food and beverage administration, Convenience meal listing and costing, bakery and deli stock control, production sheets and maintaining the flow of product from the various areas within the retail and franchise markets. Administration and control of Delicatessen, Coffee Shop, Restaurant and Bakery, including timesheets, costing, workload delegation and other menial tasks which are of importance in the running of these various departments. I have done so successfully for a period of more than 5 years. Sales and Management I have worked as a telesales executive and a buyer for the mines in and around the Northern Cape I have worked as a representative for many smaller enterprises and have amassed a vast knowledge of products and their saleability in many different business concepts and franchises. I have been in the retail sector for just short of 10 years, including Pick n Pay (as a Deli and Bakery and Convenience Consultant) I have worked as a manager, a waiter and kitchen hand in coffee shops, pubs and restaurants for close on 15 years. I have been doing this on and off most of my working life as this is my choice of trade and I enjoy working with people on the ground level. I have created restaurants, take away restaurants and a pie shop from the ground into successful businesses which gross in excess of R2 million per year exclusive of VAT. Among these are Fish Chicken n Rib Shack (R2.8 million per year excl.), Simply Black Coffee Shop (R3.1 million per year excl.) and Pick n Pie which is still in infancy and I am not able to give an accurate figure on this particular store as I am no longer involved since they have been released to the new owners as of November 2019. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused me to give up my dream of owning my own restaurant again for the time being, but I am always willing to become a partner or a consultant to someone who is looking for the same concepts as I have created in the past. I have been self - employed for the last while and have been trying very hard to keep my pub and restaurant going, but due to the magnitude of the closure on this sector, I am no longer able to fund its continuation. I am open to new opportunities, including the possibility of employment in other sectors. This has been an extremely difficult time for all South Africans and I am one of the many who is now unemployed. I do believe that my experience in this and other sectors will make me sought after in other ways. I have worked as a senior manager for the following brands: Steers, Fishaways, Pick n Pay franchise stores, Mugg and Bean Personal Motivation I am not the type of person to laze about and wait for others to do the work. I am the type of person who wants to get things done and this is the way in which I manage. I am, however very fair in my treatment of staff and customers alike. I do not believe that the customer is king. The staff are the kings and queens. The customer is the one that pays the bills and is treated in fairness and as a king in his own right. But I need it to be clear that I will not put the customer before my staff in any way other than where the customer is right and the staff member in the wrong. I am a highly motivated individual with a vast knowledge of the work I have done in the past and the passion to learn more in every task I do in the future.
