Eghard has more than 30 years’ experience in the fields of Safety, Health and Environmental in mining and related construction industry with approximately 20 years in management roles varying from SHEQ Manager through to Vice President: Safety, Health and Environment. He has also held the appointment as Mine Manager under the South African mining legislation for a mine on care and maintenance. Eghard has worked for the South African Minerals, Petroleum and Resources Department (Mines Inspectorate) advancing to the level of Assistant Director before starting his own consultancy. His SHEQ skills and experience covers the full spectrum of SHE/Q for both surface operations as well as opencast and underground mining in South Africa and the DRC together with the construction of plants and housing projects. He has reported to Mine Managers, General Managers as well executive management / board levels. In addition to opencast and underground mining, Eghard has also gained SHE experience related to construction, exploration, metallurgical plants and mine design projects.
