Good day to those that find me, I am Jan Steenberg I have been in the hospitality industry for 6 years. I started working as a bartender (12 December 2014) at my local Airfield (Stellenbosch Flying Club), to save up enough money to start flying. I always had the dream of becoming a pilot. After 2 years I was promoted to Bar manager, in which time the Kitchen manager and myself had introduced a Front of House system, updated the stock management system and started hosting plenty more functions in our club hangers. Which the restaurant had not had since 1973. By 2019 I was in charge of events coordination, organizing and managing over 200 events and was truly test for our 2019 Stellenbosch airshow. Which hosted close too 9000 people, 30 VIP's (including the Mayoral committee of Stellenbosch, president of SA Air Force etc.). With all of our hard work and planning we won SA best airshow 2019. Later that year I started my Private pilot's license, as Covid 19 hit us with lockdown. After lockdown all my attention and effort went into building the restaurant up and lifting sales. 2020 the Flying club restaurant was booming again. December of 2020 I saw opportunity and applications with drone and Received my Commercial drone license. Currently I am Studying for my Instructor's rating with drones and commercial applications of drone in land surveying.
