I am a highly motivated self-starter with a passion for community development, sports, and film. I am the Founder and Head Coach of Emndeni Youth Development, an organization that provides children from my community in Soweto with a platform to play soccer in a safe space and realize their talent. I believe in the power of sport as a tool to empower communities and change people’s lives. I, myself, am a beneficiary of development through sport. I survived throat cancer when I was 12 years old and when I was in the hospital, I never felt sick when watching soccer. This love of soccer led me to being involved in my community as a referee. When I was 16 years old, I became South Africa’s youngest professional referee. My story has been told through two films locally and internationally. The first film was a 3-minute short film produced by Absa in 2017. The second film is a 6-part international documentary called “This is Football” that is available on Amazon Prime globally. I have been interviewed through numerous media national channels such as SABC and SuperSport. In 2020 I then enrolled at Boston Media House to study television and radio. Studying television filming motivated me to start my own filming production named Sky Media and entertainment whereby I film different types of content such as music videos, weddings etc. My goal and dream are to combine my love for media with sport so that I can become a filmmaker and sports presenter in the future
