I am extremely organised, calm and patient. I have a passion for providing quality care to patients and the necessary leadership skills to inspire other staff members to strive to provide above standards level of care. I am a Professional Nurse with 27 years of experience. I have worked in private hospital groups for 23 years, with experience in all departments and operating theatre. I understand the significance of customer service among doctors, patients, the hospital and medical aids. In those 23 years I have had the responsibility of management of the hospital, ensuring that all staff are available in all areas, as well as resolving issues quickly and effectively. I have a Diploma in General Nursing Science, Midwifery, Community Health and Psychiatry. I also have a Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique and a Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Education from the University of Cape Town. When in the position of a clinical training specialist and nurse educator I gave feedback to all staff, planned for progress development, completed all required documentation and attending all meetings and training required. I have compiled and run orientation programmes in private hospitals that I have worked in. I also have a knowledge of geriatrics nursing. I am diplomatic and polite regarding communication and resolving conflict. Communication and confidentiality is essential with all and is something that I take very seriously, as well as team work with patients, doctors, relatives and colleagues. I was part of the infection control team in all hospitals, as it was required of me to ensure the correct training of all staff, patients and relatives regarding the cause and preventions of all infections. As this is a business I feel the responsibility to shareholders to develop the business further. Therefore, while working in the private sector ensuring suppliers that all billing was done correctly by myself and staff members and that all documentation was complete to prevent legal complications. I understand the importance of a budget, planning and credit management. In the last three years at Afrocentric I have gained the knowledge of all schemes and challenges of the healthcare industry. I am competent in medical terminology, clinical and technical concepts. Due to medicine progressing daily it is important to keep oneself up-to-date and share all knowledge with colleagues, patients and doctors. I am a diligent, meticulous individual and communicate well. I am professional in appearance. I am organised, so I am able to keep up with demands and manage my time effectively. I cope well under pressure and am confident with problem solving. I am passionate about training and have high ethics professionally and personally. I am a quick and enthusiastic learner, and will study whatever is required to become competent.
