My strong desire for further personal and professional growth, under-pinned by my strong work ethic, drove me to opt to leave Anglo American Platinum after nearly 25 years of loyal and dedicated service to this really great organization. My years at Anglo American Platinum gave me vast and varied metallurgical, chemical and industrial engineering experience. I also acquired strong, diverse and comprehensive management and leadership skills. I am truly appreciative and will forever be grateful to this company and many of the people. However, my recently increased exposure to the wider Anglo American organization; my personal mentorships and executive coaching sessions; exposure to several global benchmarking tours and international activities actually pushed me to pursue greater development, wider exposure and significant growth in the other minerals resources or commodities, other industries and other global organisations. As much as I celebrate my phenomenal achievements and I feel that I have more to offer and even more to achieve. Therefore, I seek broader-international exposure in other mining industries; oil and gas industries; chemicals industries; highly technical organisations; technology and digital advancement; project management; and highly people oriented and development industries. I am looking for senior management and senior leadership growth and exposure, with strong emphasis on sustainability, business design, acumen and strategic influence. My previous work experience includes many years of technical and production testwork; pilot plant work; plant design; commissioning; optimisation; upgrading; business plan formulation; execution and management in concentrator plants (i.e. minerals processing); smelting operations (i.e. pyro metallurgy) and refineries (i.e. hydrometallurgy and chemical engineering). I have experience in project management at both process engineering and project execution levels, including project programme and senior management. I have held several Mine Health and Safety Acts of South Africa legal/regulatory appointments from the lowest supervisory level (section 2.9.2) whilst working shifts as a production supervisor/trainee metallurgist, then section 2.6.1 sectional head appointments both as plant engineer/superintendent and plant manager. This was followed by the all-important Production Manager appointments in sections 3.1a and 7.3 of the Act, then held 7 years of the employer appointment section 4.1 of the MHSA as General Manager or Head of Refining Operations at both the Precious Metals Refineries and the Base Metals Refineries. I have tremendous amounts of experience and a great many successes of working with multi-disciplinary teams of different nationalities; languages; diversities and backgrounds. I have experience with working and successfully building good, workable employee relations with 5 different labour representative unions or employee federations. I have managed both permanent employees and contracting partners as many as 2000 people on one operating site, safely; harmoniously; efficiently and productively. I enjoy working with People. I also served as a Planning Analyst in the Strategic Long-Term Planning department of the Anglo Platinum Management Services (Pty) Ltd. I was responsible for the financial planning and valuation of all Anglo Platinum’s concentrators and processing plants with regards to their current and future projects. I was also involved in all the processing operations budgeting reviews (5 years) and long-term planning (60 years).
