I was born in George, Western Cape, South Africa, which is a beautiful city in the heart of the Garden Route. I am the second child and I have an older sister. I studied at York High School in George, and completed my final high school year at Rundle College, obtaining Cambridge AS levels. I then started my Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Business Management (General) at Nelson Mandela University, George Campus. As George campus did not offer a specialized degree in economics, I transferred to Port Elizabeth Campus the following year. I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Business Cum Laude. In my third year of university, I also started studying part-time for my National Certificate in Fitness due to my interest in health and wellness. I completed this in December 2018. I started working as a Junior Economic Analyst for ETM Analytics in January 2018, a Johannesburg-based company, which had a small branch in George where I live. I found the job challenging and interesting, and learnt many valuable skills such as analyzing and reporting on real-world data, how to work Bloomberg and Reuters – which are economic data analysis systems, and much more. Whilst I loved these aspects of my job I was also alone in the office most of the time and soon found myself missing interaction with fellow colleagues or clients. Upon being offered a dynamic opportunity as a Personal Trainer, I decide to resign as Junior Economic Analyst and pursue my love for health and fitness. I started my own business venture in January 2019, using both my business skills developed from completing my commerce studies, as well as my passion for health, fitness and nutrition. It is a successful business and I am operating at a profit. I am currently 23 years old and have had a diverse career thus far. I feel these experiences have truly helped me to understand where my talents lie and have prepared me for a career involving both business skills (management, marketing and economics) with client liaison.
