Dear all, With more than four years of experience in business development and project management on large projects across both Europe and Africa (Grand Paris Express, France; Nachtigal hydroelectric plant, Cameroon), I have the relevant experience that makes the linkage between both operational activities and strategic oversight, working also with large financial institutions such as the World Bank, European Union and Agence Française du Développement that makes me very well placed for a role in an engineering Area Sales. Currently, I am working as a Business Development Engineer for a reputable Italian EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) contractor named PEG (Progetti Europa & Global), based in Rome. For PEG, I carry out commercial development activities in traditional and renewable energies in countries like Iraq, Libya, and Algeria where I am often called to go. For example, I am currently working on two tenders that involves the construction of two desalinization plant, where I have been tasked to find and coordinate a local partner with which submit a technical and commercial offer. Furthermore, I recently completed a certified online course from Harvard University linked to the dynamics of energy demands in today's world, Energy Within Environmental Constraints, which has allowed me to obtain a further understanding about the complexities of energy supply and the urgent need to implement renewable power. In Paris and then in Yaoundé, Cameroon, I have also worked with large French EPCs contractors such as Egis and Bouygues preparing tenders and technical procedures always monitoring the African infrastructural and energy market. In my career path I defined commercial strategies with several heads of sales and prepared more than 40 tenders with a budget going from 10 millionto 200 million. Through my previous studies I became a civil and environmental engineer enrolled in the professional register of the province of Palermo after graduating from the University of Palermo in Civil Engineering and Architecture. These studies as which have formed the bases on my professional work over the years have allowed meto mature my management and analytical skills in the public and in the cooperation sector, while also having a strong understanding of the private sector. I am fluent in Italian, French, English and Spanish, I have a great sense of adaptation and have never backed down in front of new challenges. I consider myself as a flexible and at the same time rigorous person; diplomatic and able to go straight to the point. I have an excellent command of a range of software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Customer Relation Management, Product Data Management, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, Google Suite Applications. For some visas concerns I know that hiring a non-South African citizen might represent some challenges. However, I am sure we could start with a temporary visa or a hybrid position while figuring out how to settle this bureaucratic matter. I hope I was as clear as possible in my presentation and hoping to hear from you soon, Best regards, Gerlando Tortorici Montaperto
