The last 10 years of my project and construction management experience were spent working as a contractor answerable directly to ESKOM, representing ESKOM's interests and managing a large multi-national Nuclear contractor's input in multi-disciplinary Nuclear Safety Plant upgrades at Koeberg Operating Unit. Overall fiscal responsibility for the contractor's portion of the work was in excess of R450M. Prior to the ESKOM project I worked as the multi-disciplinary construction supervisor at Caltex/Chevron refinery for a period of 33 months overseeing capital related construction activities. Prior to that I was the principal contact between my then employer, John Thompson and the Caltex refinery. Although I am not registered with SACPCMP, I have been interviewed by them and advised that my history, qualifications and experience made me eminently suitable for registration. The decision not to register at the time was due to imminent retirement and the cost of registering and maintaining registration without the guarantee of ongoing work.
