My name is Hope Thobejane, a young disciplined and dedicated journalism graduate from the University of Johannesburg, I grew up in the dusty village of Limpopo and I have always had a passion and curiosity for the world of media and communication and there is nothing I have always wanted to do ever since I developed the love and passion for communication. When I did my first grade 12, I obtained higher certificate and told myself that if I want to be in the media industry, I need to go back to school to get better matric results and I did just that and I obtained a bachelor’s degree which gave me a university entrance to study journalism. I have Been working on radio as a sports presenter for the afternoon drive team for three (3) years now at UJFM (University of Johannesburg campus radio station), and our team have been nominated twice for the South African Radio Awards and getting these nominations is what kept me going as a journalism student, because I saw that there is a lot I can accomplish as a journalist. Working on radio gave me an opportunity to work on different fields of journalism, as I did content producing, field reporting, interviews and news writing and news editing. I believe I am a fast learner and a great team player as it does not take time for me to understand my role in any team and I bring quality and value to the task I am assigned to, together with the team. I believe I am ready to work in any media related environment as this is something I have always wanted to do, as I have managed to balance my academics with a radio job every day from my first year of study until my final year and I did just fine as I completed my degree in track record. I am an easy person to govern, as I follow instructions to the best of my ability, and I respect each person’s role in the organisation, because I believe all roles add value and bring success to the organisation, no matter the size of the position.
