I, James Jonathan Price, is a proudly South Africa, competent, professional, equity, mechanical and electrical engineer and believe my employment would be a major advantage to your company. My unique leadership style is a combination of various leadership styles which have been acquired through my continuous personal development by completing an Hons degree in management of Technology and a Master’s degree in Business Leadership (MBA). My appointment in various senior positions in Chrome and Manganese smelting factories, Petrochemical factories, Open pit and Vertical Deep level and Decline mining operations on commodities like: Coal, Dolomite, Gold, Chrome and Platinum gave me the opportunity to test the theoretical leadership knowhow against operational challenges. My working experience also aided my development and growth to move from a Management style towards a Leadership approach to all situations. During my employment exposure was gained on the maintenance and operation of mechanised mines like Samancor (Millsell), Lonmin Hossy and Saffy shaft. I worked on LHD’s and different underground and surface TMM’s. I also gained experience from my employment at Khutala Coal Mine on condition monitoring of various mechanised equipment. My employment at Lyttleton Dolomite mine gave me experience on the maintenance of Opencast trackless mobile equipment. My employment at Lonmin Sibanye and the Minerals Council of South Africa gave me exposure on the implementation of the new regulations with regards to PDS requirements on underground ,opencast and surface TMM’s. I believe leadership is key to having a successful operation. If you employ the correct leadership style you can achieve more with your people. My leadership style is a combination of an Africanised/Servant, Christianised and Situation leadership. I change my style form situation to situation and from person to person. So I use the style that would be the most appropriate to the person/s and situation. Over covering this style is an Africanised/Servant approach which aims to create an environment where everybody is respected and allowed the opportunity to differ and contribute. My Christian based approach ensures that everybody is treated fairly and cared for. Then I use the tools from the Situational leadership style to enforce disciple and compliance if and when required. I believe if one leads your people with integrity then your will be one team and will not need to use disciple measures as the team understand where you are going. I believe that my exposure to engineering management in the various engineering sectors in South Africa would make me an ideal candidate for the advertised position. Best regards James Price Pr.
