In 2004 I started my career in development, developing a point of sale for the Odyssey internet cafe franchise. The software is called IncaMS, which is an internet cafe management system, developed to control access to computer terminals. The system was developed in VB6, and is still available for download at http://www.******.***. With the expansion of the world wide web, I developed a number of websites for small businesses, using PHP. Building websites and maintaining them for a number of small business' led to exposure and more clientèle. In 2009 I started working for the Companies and Intellectual Properties Registration Office, based in Pretoria, also known as Cipro, as a data capturer. The process was working but flawed by human error, which led to the business revising the process. I was in charge of developing a solution, introducing barcodes and scanners into the business process. Redesigning the labels printed for documents to include barcodes and developing software to save the data to a proper database. As most business, Microsoft Office and its components, was the answer to most administration. But keeping track and record of these documents, proved more difficult than handling the paper print documents. No application available offered a viable solution that would maintain the business processes already adopted. For example, the custom software made it possible to search and track a document handled by any person to his or her desk, as all documents was scanned upon receipt or dispatch. In 2011 the Companies and Intellectual Properties Registration Office changed from Cipro to CIPC, The Companies and Intellectual Properties Commission. The new commission processes was also to change, to comply with changes in the laws in 2008. I was drafted by a consultant working under contract for CIPC to implement a working solution to accommodate the changes. They developed a system called Xpress, which took control of the software processes and document processing. The system was developed in C# and Xpress was a solution to intermediate and control what happens to data and outputs to paper. My responsibilities was to develop the system that outputs the result of the process, which includes all documentation and labels printed, from registration to the final documentation they handed over to their customer. I stayed on at CIPC for a couple months after development, to assist business with any issues with the software and the initial stages of transitioning back to their updated software developed by Waymark. In 2013 I started working for Junkmail Publishing, as a PHP developer, tasked with developing the mobile interface of the trader sites system. Working closely with the site designers, the mobile trader site was developed to business requirements. This enabled users to use their services in a more efficient and mobile manner. The growth in the mobile phone industry forced most websites to adopt either a mobile application or mobile website, designed for optimized usage on the vast range of devices developed at the time. With the expertise he gained from working with CIPC, I started working for a company called Phezulu business solutions in 2014. They were involved in the development of a new evidence management system for the South African Police Service. My knowledge of print mediums led to I focussing my career in reporting, developing a report server based on Microsoft technologies. Seeking a more permanent solution to my career I found permanent employment with van Driel media in 2015. Van Driel Media outsourced my services to Attorney Computer Systems. I was tasked with the development of a reporting system to accommodate a vast number of law firms in the United States. A custom developed reporting system was created, drawing data from the Tabs3 Practice Master system's database and calculating different reports. Each lawyer has their own specific reports required by their business requirements. Different applications was developed to accommodate each lawyer's needs, like software to interface with Mailchimp using parameters drawn from their database and calculating software to display a budget a specific client. I also provided remote desktop support and performed remote tasks required to set up new or exiting software. New systems was developed to automate certain tasks, and deliver reporting directly to the lawyer's inbox.
