Good day, My name is Jana Thiart. I currently work as a practice manager, personal assistant and patient ambassador among other things. I have been working in the medical field since I finished high school in 2006. Although I mostly have experience in the medical field, I am looking forward to a possible career change. I am a friendly, pro-active person and take great pride in my work. I am a fast learner and try to broaden my knowledge in the field I work in so that I can deliver a better service. In 2015 I got a wonderful career opportunity – assisting 2 specialist surgeons to open up a medical practice from scratch. This was a exciting time for me, I had to put in very long hours and built very good relationships to get the practice where it is today. I have experience in managing a practice (billing, dealing with queries, ordering of stock etc), Personal assistant duties (booking of flights, assisting with travel arrangements, running personal errands when needed) and I am also a great patient ambassador (providing patients with information, assist patients where needed (booking step down facilities, assisting with financial queries etc). I have also built very good relationships with fellow employees in my current field and get asked for advice quite often. I am trusted enough to provide our patients and other practices with the correct information without supervision. I have had the honor to have one staff member working under my supervision at my current practice. I am a fast mover, I barely ever sit down as I prefer to stay active and get the job done. I do not mind getting my hands dirty (I assist with some office procedures). I communicate very easily with people on all different levels (doctors, patients (young and old) etc) and patients warm up to me quite quickly. I am team oriented and also a good delegator, always willing to assist but can also work very well on my own! Professor Jeffery is also one of the directors of the Pelvic Floor Foundation of SA. While working for Prof. Jeffery, before the employment of permanent staff for the Pelvic Floor Foundation of SA, I assisted with organising of workshops (Arranging theatre, patients, live link for broadcast, catering, certificates, registration of CPD points and attendance list). I work very well under pressure and are always up for a challenge!
