I am hereby applying for the position as advertised. I have 20 years of operational and supply chain experience, including customer service. I have completed an advanced management diploma at the University of the Western Cape and recently obtained an honors degree in general management. I am married to a supportive husband and have two children. I started at Comair Limited on 20 Dec 1999, intending to become cabin crew. The ground operations kept me entertained for all of this time, cabin crew soon became a distant memory. The airline industry is volatile and change is constant. With the rand dollar exchange, weather predictions as well as the serviceability of the aircraft it takes a very special person to cope with the pressures and the long hours that is part and parcel of this job. Customer Experience, safety records, and superb quality of services rendered are but some of the initiatives that I was exposed to. On-time delivery of goods and services is imperative within this industry, justifying my role to identify risks and anticipate problems before they affect operations. I am a service expert in my field and I know the product well. This is necessary to service the customer optimally. Businesses depend on Information Technology Systems to support revenue and operational processes. We rely on data-driven systems to direct future endeavors. I have been exposed to the maintenance and securing of these information systems. Any business is stronger when teams support each other and work towards the common strategic goals set out. Uniting people from different diverse backgrounds to achieve such is an important skill that I have acquired over the 20 years of service. After 20 years, I feel it is time to move to a new venture that will challenge me on a different level. I am confident that I am a team player, whilst I can lead a team simultaneously. The resilience and patience displayed while I perform my duties with the end goal of completing a task to the best of my abilities are some of my strengths. My decisions are always based on what is best for the company whilst protecting the brand. Understanding the strategic intent is of high importance as it gives direction and guidance on the performance of duties. Comair Limited has been a successful company despite all the challenges in our economic environment. and unfortunately recently had to liquidate.
