I have a bachelor's degree in visual communication studies (graphic design) and a master's degree in fine arts. For the past fifteen years, I have worked as a design and production specialist in book publishing. I began my career with freelance design on art catalogues and monographs. I then moved into educational publishing, working for South Africa's top textbook publisher. I managed the company's collection of artists and illustrators and oversaw company-wide artwork commissioning. In time, I led the picture research, design, and production teams. My most recent position at Pearson was director of design and digital development. A challenging and multifaceted role, managing various content development teams, transitioning from print to digital publishing, spearheading brand development, and championing our progressive editorial policy. In 2022 I completed a copy-editing and proofreading qualification. A skill that I have long admired and value deeply. With my end-to-end publishing and content creation experience, I hope to support authors and content developers to produce engaging, elegant, accurate, and error-free content across different platforms.
