I am an editor, writer, proofreader, design/layout professional. I have worked at most of the top newspapers in the country as a reporter and copy editor. I worked as a communication consultant at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation and at Idasa (the Institute for Democracy in Southern Africa). I was the night editor of the official website for the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002 (held in Johannesburg). I have edited and proofread books. I have written for and edited magazines. My greatest achievement was starting ChildLine in the early 1980s: I worked with a social worker at Addington Children's Hospital in Durban, writing numerous articles on child abuse for the Sunday Tribune. With funding from the newspaper, we brought in the first anatomically correct dolls for children who found it difficult to explain what had happened to them. We started ChildLine which, since then, has became a national non-profit organisation. I am deadline-driven. My work is accurate and professional. I am passionate about English and the manner in which it is written. I am a thorough copy editor.
