I am a straight-talking commercially astute FM with 17 years of management experience in the ICT and Retail sectors. I believe it is important to gain skills and knowledge (and not just advance) in each role, while adding value to the business and its employees. I have moved forward every time with my drive to do exactly this. Between 2001 and 2007 I gained strong budget and forecasting skills combined with Project Management methodology and solid understanding of various IT service offerings and benefits. Between 2007 and 2012 I took responsibility for the full financial function including credit control, vendor management, cash flow control, stock management and telephony and communication. During this time, I also implemented a new accounting system (Pastel Evolution) and completed a payroll migration from VIP Payroll to Evolution Payroll. It was a small company with 45 employees, thus every change required hands on involvement and equipped me with invaluable problem solving and change management skills. Between 2012 and 2017 I stepped into the ‘Retail Arena’ and learned how to apply data analytical and interpretation skills at great speed. I further honed my system technical knowledge and combined with payroll management experience, designed and rolled out various successful cost saving initiatives to ensure we run the business with a cost-effective labour force.
