• Implement/Maintain Safety Management systems – OHSAS 18001 / ISO 14001 • Conduct audits on systems and ensure effective loop closure on identified gaps as well as the implementation of long term preventative actions • Incident Investigation – identify root causes, define preventative and corrective actions and drive loop closure with sign off and reporting • Hazard Identification Risk Assessment • Track, prepare, report and maintaining of accurate records on SHE key performance metrics • Report on executive/senior management level on SHE performance and progress • Facilitate or coordinate health & environmental committee meetings • Draft and distribute toolbox talks, bulletins and learnings • Function independently and perform effectively under pressure • Develop and execute health and safety plans according to legal and other applicable guidelines • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions and non-compliance • Recommend solutions to issue improvement opportunities or new prevention measures • Define legal appointment structure and ensure appointments made accordingly and within legal requirements. • Provide advice and support legal appointees (16.1 / 16.2 / GMR 2.1 / GMR 2.7 / SHE Reps / Incident Investigators / Supervisors etc.) • Manage service provider safety system – scoping, selection, and evaluating, appointing and continuous evaluation of safety performance of all service providers. • Define service provider minimum requirements in line with Company requirements and other legal requirements such as the Construction Regulations. • High risk service provider safety plan and document review and approval • Management of budget for safety expenses such as training and purchasing of personal protective equipment (PPE) • Review/Approval of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Safe Working Procedures (SWP’s) • Manage Induction training program • Monitoring of waste generating activities and safe disposal • Manage emergency response program; ensure emergency response plan is updated and relevant to site • Manage emergency exercises; arrange internally or coordinate with local authorities where applicable; report on outcome; identify short-comings with an action plan; drive completion of action items on action plan Communicate and build relationship with external stakeholders such as Department of Labor and local authorities.
