I am currently a Technical Manager. My career began as a Senior Technician where I was responsible for hardware and software maintenance, upgrades and updates of various systems and equipment. This included Android and Mac (Windows & IOS) including desktops. Some of the business systems I worked on was Dolphin and mostly custom built internal systems – Dashboard. I am well versed with Google Sheets which we used to control and manage stock. This was also used for stock taking purposes. My career developed further and I was given the opportunity to take on a senior level role as a Senior Technician. My key accountabilities and responsibilities now includes managing Technicians by planning their work schedules and ensuring the effective delivery of their tasks. I managed customer satisfaction and I was responsible for ensuring that the customer’s complaints or queries are dealt with. All complaints or queries that could not be managed by the Technicians was escalated to me for further intervention and close out. I was also accountable to manage insurance claims and ensure that they are valid. As I grew in the industry I had been tasked with the role of a Technical Manager. In this role I was still accountable for all of the above as the Head of Department. Some of my roles included daily, weekly and monthly reporting as well as interviewing candidates for Technicians. I was accountable for material supply and to ensure cost effectiveness and productivity.
