• Maintain SHE Management system • Monitor SHE legal compliance • Monitor Occupational hygiene surveys schedule and ensure implementation of their recommendations • Ensure all legal appointments are in place as per OHS Act 85 of 1993 • Conduct SHE internal Audits and Inspections • Ensure effective communication and implementation of SHE policies and procedures. • Monitor progress on SHE targets and objectives • Assist plant with SHE administration. • Identify and Organise training required with training centre • Coordinate and facilitate incident investigations and assist formalizing remedial actions plans to avoid repeats and aligning outcome with baseline risk assessment • Assist in conducting Safety Risk Assessment and making recommendations regarding the managements of risks • Report to SHE Manager and Plant Manager with regards to any risk changes and incidents arising from my area of responsibility • Follow up on corrective actions closure and ensure that they are closed out satisfactorily and document the proof of actions thereof • Execute SHE requirements determined from time to time by the SHE Manager • Liaise with contractors in terms of requirements and specifications before commencing with their projects • Liaise with fire fighters, first aiders and SHE representatives with regards to their concerns and address them with SHE Committee team • Ensure that fire equipment, first aid box, SHE representative book, emergency equipment and building facilities are inspected on a monthly basis • Conduct SHE induction to all employees, visitors and contractors on site • Attend respective SHE meetings • Facilitate adequate Emergency preparedness and schedule emergency drills • Conduct plant walkabout and report all the non-conformances and unsafe acts and conditions in writing the report to plant manager and SHE manager • Conduct internal SHE audits in other departments • Be present during internal and external audits • Follow up on the findings raised during the audits and ensure their closure in time • Compiling Safety files for developing contractors • Reporting and recording accidents/Incidents • Ensuring all operators are competent and in position of their medical fitness certificates
