I am currently working as an assistant Officer at the University of the Free State Student Affairs-Residence Life. My main role is to Liaise with residence heads in all related instances and student governance structures. I work with 280 Student Leaders (Residence Committee and Residence Assistant) in two campuses (Bloemfontein Campus and South Campus). The Student Affairs is one of the largest departments at the university, this has given me the opportunity to work with and be exposed to a diverse group of students with various lifestyles, belief systems and interests. Furthermore, my role also entails that I liaise and collaborate with various stakeholders namely Students, programme directors, Student Academic Services and Housing and Residence Affairs. I am also responsible for printing Leadership certificates for Residence Assistants and Residence Committee ensuring they are of the best quality by adhering to the University’s procedure, this is done by ensuring that I get the approval to print. I also assist in award ceremonies of the Residences in two campuses, Bloemfontein campus and South Campus.
