Currently I fulfill the role of Stakeholder Relations Manager, Western Cape for MTO Forestry. My primary responsibilities entails engaging regularly with a range of stakeholders including rural communities, government, municipalities and non-profit organisations. As Group Transformation and Equity Manager at Novus Holdings (a JSE listed company), I developed the company’s transformation strategy which included diversity and employment equity strategies. I was also responsible for implementing the company’s first employee engagement survey. Post the engagement survey I assisted the HR Managers at each site to develop initiatives to address gaps identified by the survey. Throughout my tenure at British American Tobacco SA, one of my roles afforded me the opportunity to coordinate the company’s first HIV/Aids campaign focused on destigmatising the pandemic to employees. The campaign involved the implementation of training and awareness initiatives which ultimately led to a 74% employee participation in voluntary counselling and testing. Also at British American Tobacco SA, as Sustainability Manager, I managed the company’s CSI budget which included its bursary programme as well as TSiBA (Tertiary School in Business Administration), both flagship education programmes.
