I am an accomplished scientist with more than 12 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. I worked for the following Sasol business units viz. LDPE and PVC production, Polymer Technology Services Centre laboratories, Polymer Research and Development, ChlorAlkali plants (including derivatives), Utilities and Sodium cyanide plant. Throughout my career, I have acquired exceptional skills and a wealth of experience both in polymer science (specifically at waxes, polymer production scale and polymer structural, thermal and mechanical characterisation, benchtop scale polymerization, polymer additives and their quantification and qualitative analysis) and chemistry (namely catalysis, water quality control, inorganic chemistry, ChlorAlkali and sodium cyanide processes). Apart from chemistry and polymer science expertise that I have acquired over the years, I have also received immense training on the application of lean six sigma methodologies that would suggest inter alia that I am able to use data, categorise it systematically then analyse using statistical software such as Minitab during troubleshooting and problem solving exercises. I have a strong inter-personal skills, and a strong analytical mind and common sense, and also have a balanced outlook that allows me to lead and integrate any teams, anywhere in the world. I strongly believe in the great potential that lies within people and believe that, through systematic motivation and adequate training, this potential can be unleashed to the benefit of the origination. I have trained several laboratory operators in Sodium Cyanide and scientist in training on the application of KAIZEN principles in their day-to-day activities and that had since helped them to unleash their potential.
