I have been working as a bearing repairer for 5 years cleaning, inspecting and inhibiting various wheel and gearbox bearings of various aircrafts and helicopters. After that been transferred to the shop floor where I stripped, cleaned, inspected, call up spares, received, re-assemble, test, paint and pack jobs. I have been working on various helicopter components i.e. Allouette 3, Puma and Oryx Transmission components. Doing overhaul and repairs on the following components Main Rotor Hub, Main Transmission, Main Input Drive Shafts, Tail Rotor Gearbox, Tail Rotor Hub Assembly, Swashplate Assembly, my job also included doing static balance of Tail Rotor Hub Assemblies. On trips you are also sometimes required to do work on the airframe. We strip, cleaned, visual and dimensional inspected components, carry out crack detection, order spares, re-assembled and finalize components and pack them for transporting Started in December 2014 at Denel Aerostructures as an Aircraft Mechanic and were seconded as an instructor at DTA (Denel Training Academy) at the beginning of September 2017 and are currently in the position as a First year Instructor at DTA (Denel Training Academy).
