I spent 27 years as a newspaper journalist before deciding to freelance on a fulltime basis at the end of 2016. My senior newspaper career was spent on The Star in Johannesburg where I started as a general reporter, then a municipal reporter and, finally, news editor of the Saturday Star. Purely for the experience, I also did a short stint as a top-table sub. I have loads of examples of my freelance work. I write about everything and anything. My career in journalism has taught me to respect deadlines and to never be afraid to ask questions when unsure about a topic. I am reliable, hard-working and will never undertake an assignment I cannot complete satisfactorily.
