I am one who believes in personal development and to that end I have studied a degree in Social Sciences with honors in International Relations. Furthermore I am currently studying towards my LLB degree, so as to attain a better position once I am complete. I have worked in the political and Public Sector for the duration of my career, mostly in Administration. To this end I have studied further in Municipal management, to better understand the Public Sector. Due to my efforts I now inhabit the role of Deputy Director in an Administrative tier of government. The role involves research and oversight of committees, managing subordinates and assessing on a daily basis to determine changes in the political environment, economy, legislation and any other changes that will have an influence on duties and to take the necessary pro-active steps to change work procedures and planning to counter these changes. I have a penchant for paying attention to details. As an administrator I pride myself on order and precision in the office and the overall secretariat. Part of my secretarial role was also to make sure the correct people receive relevant documentation. Screening reports and writing agendas were other complimentary duties I had to be meticulous with. I am also a very organized person and in my office everything has its place, working within an ordered system. I have played an ambassadorial role by representing my country in Russia, I speak the language and am offe’ with its culture and literature. The experience of interpreting and administering for the South African Embassy puts me in stead to act as an official Ambassador for our country. This is a role I play daily in my current environment and would like to expand. I mean this metaphorically, as being part of the public sector does mean representing ones government While working in the corporate world I had the experience of event managing. This is a skill I could use in another position in the Public Sector, thus increasing my value as an asset. Even though I have subordinates, I work well with my direct report. It is as easy for me to take instructions as it is for me to give it. I fully understand how government works and would like to discuss my next level with you.
