I am studying towards achieving formal qualification with Unisa (ND:SMN) My duties include assisting in compiling the SHE Plan. Assist with risk identification, evaluation and development of safe work procedures. Conduct or have conducted a hazard analysis and facilitate with the necessary corrective actions. Ensuring all accidents are properly recorded, reported and investigated. Ensuring Safety Meetings are held regularly and the results recorded. Ensuring Health and Safety Representatives conduct monthly inspections and submit the required reports. Ensuring the contractors comply with the health and safety specifications. Issuing non-conformances and keep record of the same where required. Assisting with establishment of the fall protection plan. Where it is not possible to remove any remaining hazard/s you are to inform employees thereof and what precautionary action is to be taken. Ensuring appropriate restoration of areas affected by construction. Facilitate with the mitigating measures required to be taken, and the procedures for their implementation to the Responsible Manager. Establish the reporting system to be undertaken during construction and ensure effective reporting to management on the deviations identified and facilitate with the required action to be taken. Ensuring EMP compliance. Ensuring monthly Safety, Health and Environmental reports are submitted to the Responsible Manager. Ensuring the implementation with the Company System Procedures for Health and Safety. Ensuring statistics are maintained on site regarding accidents, injuries, man hours, lost time and risk assessments. Ensuring training needs are identified and implemented. Assist with Induction training. I have managed to acquire my skills as a safety officer through hard work, dedication and passion while working as a process controller, operating cranes and being actively involved in SHE matters as a SHE Representative for a few companies I worked for. Maintain and improve the Region Integrated Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management System to ISO I9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 and IS0 45001 externally audited standards. Maintain of Health Safety & Environmental matters in areas of responsibility. Facilitation of Work coordination Permit Procedure to all Managers, Supervisors, Foreman and Safety Officers. Ensuring site verification on site is done by Safety Officers. Corrective coaching to the line management and employees. Ensuring fall protection procedure and plan is followed. Solving matters arising on site ensure safe conditions exist and are maintained during confined spaces entry activities that contractors comply with the Client specification. Reporting of incident or accident occurred on site. Assisting emergency department to get to the area of the incident, ensuring that the employees don’t temper with the evidence on the scene of incident. Taking part in emergency preparedness. Ensure signs are placed where required to eliminate confusion on site. Ensure that quality investigations are conducted and actions implemented, ensure that all HSE targets and objectives are met. Taking part in daily Management progress meetings, cheering daily HSE meetings on site, Implementation of usage of PPE. Compiling weekly deviation report from sub-contractors, taking Part onsite Inspection with Client and Management. Assisting auditors on site with Monthly Audits.
