Mapula began her professional career at TNS Johannesburg as part of the telecommunications qualitative research team She started off as a research intern which laid a foundation in her market research career. Mapula moved to African Response as a Junior Research Executive and later on promoted to Research Executive conducting an array of research studies including brand health, customer satisfaction, concept, and product testing She has worked within various sectors namely FMCG, public sector, financial and petroleum to name a few After close to two years with African Response she moved into the market research freelancing space where she gained significant experience in moderating, project management and report writing. In 2016 Mapula joined the payment solutions field as a Client Relations Executive for PayCorp where she acquired skills on client and stakeholder relationship management, business and product development. Mapula returned to market research as a Research Executive at African Response from January 2019 working on numerous qualitative and quantitative research studies, contributing to the building of social capital of the agency brand and using her tech savvy flair to source and implement more effective solutions and practices for the company. Throughout her consumer understanding career, Mapula has gained valuable proficiency in the entire research process from proposal writing, questionnaire design, data collection, analysis, report writing, and insights development Her strengths lie in various fields including qualitative research, insights delivery, project management, product development, sales, and stakeholder engagement. Creative Agency and Marketing Experience summary: After her time in the professional market research industry. Mapula courageously took on a career in creative work to follow her natural instincts of becoming a creative. In her capacity at The Good Guys Creative Agency she was responsible for all client and stakeholder communication and management while also providing overall company account management and financial management. Mapula leveraged on her experience to provide strategy input, consumer insights and copywriting while managing internal and external engagement with client and suppliers. She worked on a number of accounts including Phutumanathi 2021 Share awareness Campaign as a project manager and compiled weekly feedback and analysis of the performance of the campaign. She also provided strategic, creative and art direction input into numerous pitches, photoshoots and accounts and as a natural writer, with experience, Mapula instinctively harnessed her writing skills for providing input into copywriting for client media needs to ensure clear and concise messaging to client target consumers. Currently, Mapula is providing ad hoc creative and copywriting consulting and implementation for MNM Marketing event entities on social media and tangible content creation, while also involved in managing and planning Obrigado Radio Episodes (podcast). Artist Management Experience summary: In her personal capacity Mapula has been in involved in managing and consulting on numerous events ranging from panel discussions to social events. As a budding deejay Mapula has consistently been exposed to the music industry. In November of 2019, Mapula had the pleasure of hosting 9th Wonder and the Jamla recording label executives during their trip to South Africa. Mapula organised and managed two events with the internationally acclaimed artist and producer. Mapula naturally gravitated to adapting to on-the-job skills such as public relations, engagements with various suppliers, venue owners, and artist management. These events were extremely successful and created a massive pull for Hip Hop fans in South Africa. This experience also sparked a renewed energy with her personal passion for music, public relations, and creative work.
