I'm a go-getter, a risk-taker, and a (little bit of a) rule breaker – A tech obsessed futurist in hot pursuit of a big life and career change. My friendly disposition, calm and rational approach to problem solving, and excellent public speaking abilities attracts co-workers and clients alike. I started out as a graduate of The Cape Town Hotel School, Granger Bay Campus CPUT, where I excelled as Class President, and Event Chairman for each of the three years. I didn’t want to be confined to working in Hotels, Restaurants, and Events however. So, straight out of varsity I tried my luck and decided to become an entrepreneur. Starting out completely solo - with no real world business experience, and a bunch of other people’s money in my hands, I was secretly terrified inside. But it ended up being a success story – and would propel me to later on become a minority stakeholder, and managing partner of a VC funded Restaurant chain. As my career continued to evolve, the opportunities that would present themselves ultimately equipped me with an unusually diverse skillset. I became bona-fide Jack of All Trades – But I was certainly not a Master of None. On the contrary - I discovered that, with a little bit of effort, I was able to master almost anything. Whatever the role, however, my passion has always been interacting with people – customers, and co-workers alike. I am greatly energized, and motivated when I am able to satisfy, and moreover, exceed, a client/customer's needs and expectations. Behind the scenes, my conflict resolution capabilities are equally well developed. Highly articulate, and intuitive by nature, I have been able to develop above average communication skills. Whether in-person, on email, in a Clubhouse room, during a Slack discussion, in a Sub Reddit, or when addressing a room full of people live –my approach, although dynamic and adaptable, remains consistent and professional. In every project, business venture, consulting or employment position, or fundraiser that I have been involved with, and even in my personal life, I have always taken a progressive approach. I insist on being, and equally importantly, remaining, current and relevant – The cutting edge is where I live. Why apply for this position well. I feel that I am at the perfect stage in my life for a mid-career shift, and that my creativity, diverse skillset, many years of experience, and appetite for new challenges, will add great value to an organisation that is currently in a rapid, or hyper-growth phase, and needs somebody who GETS THINGS DONE.
