I graduated with a B. Eng. (Mechatronics) degree on 1 December 2017 and is currently a final year student doing a Masters of Electrical Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch. The title of my dissertation is “Evaluation of induction electrical machines for heavy traction applications”. Being a lateral thinker and innovative person, I enjoy the challenge of solving problems in complex scenarios, hence the selection of engineering as my field of study. I am specifically interested in the application of the digital industry as the platform for business and strategic solutions. I believe that the conceptual understanding of information and facilitating the transfer thereof is an ideal environment for me to excel at. Being a team leader for multiple projects at university, I was able to perform well in group dynamics by retaining a focus on teamwork and professionalism without losing track of long term goals and required detail. Additionally, I enjoy leading and motivating team members to reach their full potential. A non-negotiable work-ethic and sound value system are two of my main attributes and I believe they are crucial for personal and professional success. Additionally, I am determined to embrace the perspective of continuous improvement and learning. It is my viewpoint that a healthy life style is crucial to sustain an energized work environment and as such I actively participate in outdoor activities.
