I am a recent Business Science Finance graduate, CFA level 2 candidate, currently undertaking a Masters in Investment management and am in search of a career in the financial services industry. I enjoy analysing problems and complex information, working collaboratively in a team environment due to competitive team sports and boarding school education, which also taught me to communicate effectively with my peers and elder professionals. I have always been passionate about finance, economics and the financial markets. I was gripped by the way it all worked and the numbers behind the topics. One of my top skills is numerical reasoning which helps me to solve problems accurately. I have a structured and logical approach to interpreting information which I believe would aid any business in being a leading financial services organisation. I am a friendly, confident and sociable person and one of my main life goals is to build and maintain meaningful relationships. Being at boarding school since the age of thirteen, and living in a digs for five years in Cape Town enabled me to build strong personal ties. I believe this is a key skill in any business operation where developing personal ties with parties is important, not just the business transaction. Being healthy and fit is important to me as I believe it allows me to operate to the best of my ability. I thoroughly enjoy being in the outdoors and practice yoga daily which allows me to be calm and clear headed in my decision making. My competitive nature now comes in the form of golf where I play off a 12 handicap. Travel has enabled me to appreciate different cultures, by listening and speaking to locals I have seen challenges and reality from another perspective and how people work and operate in different countries. I believe this broader sense of the world has benefited me and would fit in well with most firm cultures.
