Dear Sir/ Madam Application for a teacher I am interested in applying for a teaching post. Any post for any grade would be appreciated but I will be qualified to teach grade 7 Mathematics and Natural Sciences next year. I am currently 4th year studying Bachelor’s in Education in Senior Phase and FET at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. My majors are Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Even though I am studying in the Senior and FET phase I have always wanted to be a teacher because it fits my personality so well. Before studying I had experience in working with primary school children, grade 1 to 4 in tutoring English and Mathematics. This was during the Year Beyond program. During this time I had training with Action Volunteers South Africa (AVA) and SHINE, which is based on primary school. I attended workshops that deals with stress, leadership as well as a discipline for peace workshop. This volunteer program also gave me the opportunity to study 3 short courses in leadership at Stellenbosch University. While studying I have also tutored children grades 4 to 10. I am currently working for on the Edge tutoring. I am very excited to start this journey. My studies has equipped me with so many abilities like understanding patience as well as making the lessons interesting through using a variety of teaching media. I have always wanted to become a teacher, I find that it is a very rewarding and heart-warming job. I can take on any challenge to the best of my ability. I am able to think out of the box and I love doing research so it helps me with solving problems. I am also planning on taking a Zen Couching course which I think would be really beneficial to the school and planning on reaching out to schools to have at least one teacher in every school to take the course. I will love and appreciate it if I could be given the opportunity to give back. Please call me if I left anything out that you would like to see along with my application. Thank you for taking the time to read my application and I am looking forward to hearing from you in due time. Yours sincerely Megan Heunis
