I am a registered Professional Engineering Technologist (Electrical Engineering) with vast experience in project engineering; substation design, HV&MV overhead line design; electrical protection system design and applications; programme and project management; facilities maintenance; implementation of water infrastructure projects; operations and maintenance of water & waste water infrastructure. He has a BTech degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) and a Diploma in Project Management. He is registered a Candidate Construction Project Manager. I have a great deal of experience in middle management, having been a Contracts Manager, Project Manager – Electrical Services for a total of fifteen months, a Regional Manager – Operations and Maintenance for four years and six months, and Acting Director – Operations, and later Planning and Development with Amatola Water for a total of 22 months. My current position is that of Project Management Unit Manager, a position which I have held since November 2016 till current. I can therefore claim almost ten years’ experience at middle management level, with some of this time spent as Acting Director, a Senior Management position. I am very well experienced in project management, having been involved in running projects from the outset of my career: in this field I can claim to have in-depth experience in all aspects of project management, including planning, development and design, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, risk management and financial management of projects. All of this experience has been at both professional and management level, in the field of electrical engineering. Having worked for SOCs the likes of Petronet, Eskom and Amatola Water, I believe I have built up a sound knowledge of institutional governance matters relating to these institutions, and my area of responsibility has also required that I always ensure that I am au fait with all relevant legislation. Furthermore, I have, in the course of my duties, gained a great deal of experience in managing human resources and driving a system that is geared towards customer service excellence.
