Having acted as a professional point of contact on behalf of the group technology manager and his departments, I was responsible for managing their diaries, flexible in this regard to continually balance competing priorities. I had to actively resolve customer complaints where possible, and to exercise judgement when escalating issues to managers and executives. I had to exercise proactive inbox management, with confidence to make decisions on behalf of the executive where appropriate. From my ten years of experience in working for a busy executive, I understand the importance of being hands-on and being creative in problem solving issues to ensure a smooth-running office and to allow the executive to use his valuable time to focus on the needs of the business that require his expertise. I was responsible for implementing management’s administrative requirements within the business, engaging with staff members, training, coaching, motivating, developing, assigning tasks, reviewing, following up on the tasks completed by others. I was praised for my leadership skills, interpersonal skills, office management, attention to detail, assertiveness, follow through, reliability, accountability, discretion, planning, organization, going the extra mile and for my commitment to excellence. I was publicly recognized for facilitating the company's relocation to new premises, for motivating staff members and for making the process seamless. I was initially responsible for administering only the group technology manager’s travel requirements and as a result of doing an excellent job, within a couple of months I was managing the entire company’s travel requirements. Having worked as a member of the research and development department, I was responsible for assisting the project manager with the execution of the development projects. It was my role to liaise with key project stakeholders and report back to the project manager as well as to provide support to the wider project management team. I had to coordinate project activities of planning, monitoring and control as delegated by the project manager to ensure thesuccessful delivery of each project. I also had to coordinate project governance activities, including meeting arrangements, preparation of project related documents, risk management, issue management, and quality control. It was also my role to allocate software developers to various integration development projects. Having worked as a member of the compliance team, I was responsible for communicating compliance related issues to employees across the organization and updating management as required. This experience has allowed me to communicate at various levels within the organization, to produce high level reports and documents and has allowed me to obtain an overall perspective of the business. This has also given me the opportunity to be fair and modest, willing to scrutinize all the facts without making an impulsive judgement and interview any relevant employees for their input. I worked closely with the head of compliance and the compliance auditor in documenting, reviewing, and maintaining, auditing company policies, procedures, processes, and work instructions. I had to educate and interact with staff members to ensure that they understand the documents, their value, and their role in the quality management system of the company. I was responsible for conducting the OHS training within the company, to inform and educate colleagues on the risks and mitigation plans involved in creating a safe work environment. My ideal career opportunity would be where I can render an efficient, and value-added management or administrative service within an organization, contributing to achieving overall goals. I have thoroughly enjoyed being the backbone for successful business and projects and I look forward to demonstrating how I can be a valuable addition to your team.
