Highlights and Achievements: Minikazi Matlhaga Marketing • I formed part of the team that launched Cell C in South Africa, which was a monumental milestone in my career. • I launched Cell C, Virgin Mobile and their whole retail channels (Edcon Group, Woolworths, The Foschini Group, Shoprite etc), as well as the Wholesale channels. • I was head-hunted by MTN in 2010, following a poorly performing Mass and Emerging Market Channel that desperately needed attention. I saved the day when the channel’s performance doubled from 30% to 60% in prepaid numbers, within six months of my tenure. • My roles always encompassed a Sales and Marketing function. I am a born sales- lady, with the ability to market any product and any service. Procurement • I successfully adjudicated a R200 million tender for MTN Group, dealing with suppliers across the world, with language barriers, cultural nuances and different business practices. • I implemented Operation Clean-Up (monitored all the contracts, went to tender, successfully and appointed credible suppliers that could deliver – not based on favours or connections). • I saved MTN a significant amount by renegotiating contracts whose value were unnecessarily excessive.
