My years of work experience as an accountant span from working in a small accounting firm in Durban as an accountant/consultant for SMEs to working at Eskom. I started here at Eskom as a trainee accountant working in Group Capital for the transmission projects in the financial accounting section. I am now a Project Accountant within Group Capital still, working in the Kusile Power Station project where I am responsible for five construction contracts with a total annual budget of R2.7 billion. In Summary my daily responsibilities include but not limited to finance weekly and monthly reports on expenditure and cash flow, financial planning & modeling and budgeting, project, investment appraisal and investment monitoring. I interact with internal auditing on a monthly basis to look at past month performance and plan for the months ahead. I am a member of the Kusile Tender Committee which is responsible for adjudication of tender requests up to R100M. I am also a member of the Kusile Investment Committee that is responsible for the management of the project contingency and its distribution to various areas. In this committee I am responsible for investment appraisal and monitoring using predetermined procedures and policy to ensure project due diligence. I am also a member of the Kusile Panels Commercial Committee which is responsible for adjudication of requests to hire professional services externally. I hold a http://www.******.*** degree with majors in Accounting & Taxation and a CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting. I am currently registered for a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration with Milpark Business School Working in the biggest project in the country I believe has prepared me to adapt to different challenging environments within the commercial/projects sphere and my experience has prepared me for anything that comes my way.
